There’s something special about fall in Auburn and Opelika — the air gets crisp, the trees start showing off their colors, and the whole community seems to come alive with events, festivals, and football. Whether you’re a local looking for weekend plans or visiting the area to experience true Southern charm, October is the perfect time to get out and explore.
Here are our favorite things to do in Auburn and Opelika this month — from pumpkin patches to live music and everything in between.
Watch an Auburn Football Game – Whether Home or Away!
There are multiple football games in Jordan-Hare Stadium this October, and game days in Auburn are a special experience. The Auburn Tigers’ home games bring an electric energy that spreads throughout the city. Even on the Saturdays that Auburn plays on the road, the Auburn community has plenty of places to watch the game and cheer on The Tigers!
Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch or Corn Maze
October is pumpkin-picking season, and Lee County has some of the best spots around!
The Farmer in the Dell Pumpkin Patch is great for little ones and local photo ops! Grab a pumpkin, take fall photos, and don’t forget about apple cider donuts!
The Farm at Rocky Top Pumpkin Patch has wagon rides, inflatables, an animal bar and petting zoo, and so many activities for the family!
