The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County has been meeting the needs of area youth for over 25 years through support programs run by a dedicated team. Three Sixty REALTORS® Emmy Martin Sorrells and Bob Harris both serve on the organization’s board.

The Boys & Girls Club is currently serving over 550 children and teens each year (nearly 200 each day!). The organization’s mission is “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”
Programs for Area Youth
The organization offers various programs in addition to daily after-school activities. The after-school program offers children a place to go after school where they receive accountability to academic goals and schoolwork, tutoring, and even guidance on nutrition and caring for themselves. Emmy is particularly impressed by the Smart Girls Program! This program, done in conjunction with the Junior League, empowers young women to embrace their intelligence, learn leadership skills, and excel in life.

Last summer, in conjunction with Professional Women in Building and the Auburn High School building construction teacher, the Boys & Girls Club offered a construction camp to all 5th graders. One child who attended felt such a sense of accomplishment of creating something with his own hands! His principal reports that he is having a wonderful start to this school year!
Bob and Emmy report that finances are a challenge for the organization, as their funding relies on donations. While annual fundraising events do help, there are times each year when donations wane. Then the staff must prioritize spending in order to meet the needs of the children they are committed to serve.

We always have a hard time picking just one non-profit for our October Giving Campaign, so this year we decided to let our clients choose. For every closing in the month of October, Three Sixty will give our clients a choice between seven non-profits to whom we will make a donation in their name!
