In May, Nonet Reese and I attended the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Conference in Washington, D.C. This mid-year WCR meeting is held in conjunction with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) legislative meetings. At this conference, we send voting delegates to elect our national officers who lead WCR on a national level.

About the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR)
WCR is a network of successful REALTORS® with a mission to advance women as business leaders in the industry and in the communities they serve. In 1938, women were barred from many local real estate associations, so a “women’s division” was formed, creating the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Over the decades, vast numbers of women have chosen to work in real estate. There is a considerable benefit to women from the flexible work schedule and the ability to earn pay equitable to men’s in a commission-based field. Today, the council remains a leader for the industry.
WCR provides award-winning business leadership programs. The organization also hosts two annual national conferences in May and November. The Women’s Council of REALTORS® Conference is always one of my favorite professional conferences to attend. I am inspired to see the work REALTORS® do with our elected officials.
