Style Consultant and lifeSTYLED owner Sarah Brown knows that keeping up with current design trends is a major part of Three Sixty’s concept to closing approach. Sarah was happy to put her knowledge to use when Three Sixty REALTOR® Sandi Williams and her husband Greg asked for help in the redesign of their kitchen.
The Challenge
Sandi and Greg built their home 20 years ago without the benefit of design help, so it badly needed an update. With only rough ideas of what they wanted to do, the couple decided to start with the kitchen. The couple loves to entertain, but their kitchen was dark and outdated. They dreamed of having a brighter kitchen with a more spacious feel.
Sandi has always found the thought of hiring a designer intimidating, but she knew she didn’t have the know-how to achieve a good result on her own with this project. Having met and instantly liking Sarah Brown when she started working at Three Sixty, Sandi knew Sarah was the right person for the challenge.
An Approach Based on Current Kitchen Design Trends
Sarah recommended several changes to update and brighten the kitchen. In keeping with current trends, she opted for two-toned kitchen cabinets. The upper cabinets are white, opening the space and allowing for contrasting dark lower cabinets.
Since white and bright kitchens are also trending, the light tile backsplash combined with the white upper cabinets bring a bright and shiny appeal to the formerly dark room.
Sarah started by taking stock of our home, taking photos and asking us questions. She then suggested options for updating our home that took into account our tastes, current trends, and the existing characteristics of our home. Sarah helped us refine what we wanted, and then choose tile, granite, paint colors, plumbing fixtures and lighting that we truly love.

Other design trends Sarah utilized in Sandi and Greg’s kitchen were some open shelving and glass-door cabinets, granite countertops, and blue cabinetry.
While the kitchen is still awaiting the final details, Sandi and Greg are thrilled with the results and can’t wait to entertain in their beautiful new kitchen!
