Scarlett Gorham may have grown up in Auburn, but she spent her weekends in Sandy Creek at her parents’ Lake Martin vacation home. She always dreamed of having her own lake house one day. Dreams became reality when she and her husband Phillip moved their family to the lake last year. They are thrilled to be “full time” and are taking advantage of everything the community has to offer.
A lifelong love of people, learning new things and making others happy has led Scarlett from a career in the medical field to working with her husband at his small construction company, East Alabama Exterior Solutions, to what she sees as the next logical step – real estate! While the love of taking care of patients is hard to replace, being able to find the perfect home for her clients while also making new lifetime friends is so very heart warming.
Six years ago, Scarlett had cancer and was away from her family and isolated due to surgery and treatment for three months. She lived in Birmingham by herself with few visitors and her children were not allowed to visit. Beating that life-threatening obstacle taught her to always give love to anyone and everyone, and to remember that you never know what someone is going through. While a person may not look sick or hurt, they may just need a smile to make their day better.
Scarlett and Phillip have 2 sons, Jack and Mason. Whether it’s boating, canoeing, grilling out daily or having a fire by the lake, Scarlett and her family love every aspect of their dream lake life. The boys play football, basketball and baseball, so they stay very active and on the go. The family takes frequent vacations even if just for a weekend to the mountains or the beach. They love to stop at all the historical markers to teach the boys about history, which they all enjoy.
