Making the most of our time at NAHB

As this first month of 2017 comes to a close, I reflect on how the year has begun…

Each of us sets many goals at the start of every year! How are we doing? Have we started a daily checklist to confirm we are moving toward the goal? Have you forgotten why you wanted this goal?  Do you keep your written goals in front of you daily? Do you remember why the goal was so important to you?

Here’s to refreshing your goals!

At Three Sixty, each of the team members chooses ONE WORD for the year! At our Revolution meeting at the beginning of each year we share our words and we also decide on company words for the year!

Many come with words that mean very much both personally and professionally and some of us come with words that help us make the most of each day. Here are some examples… ACTION, FOCUS, GROWTH, KINDNESS, CONSISTENCY, ENOUGH.

I must say that the first month is always tough… it involves a lot of travel, a lot of information and education and it flies by!

Week One we had our annual Revolution meeting. We are Three Sixty – it is one full circle! It’s only fitting that we have a meeting that we call a “Revolution.”

Week Two we are off to Orlando for the National Home Builder’s International Builder Show! It is amazing that this conference truly covers 2 Million square feet of meeting space at the Orange County Convention Center. There are sales topics, building code, plan design and development education sessions as well as universal design tours and let’s not forget… the newest and coolest products for the home!

Week Three we are off to New York City for one of our favorite (if not our favorite) real estate conferences of each year, Inman Connect! Inman covers all things real estate and so much more along with setting the standard higher for customer service and pushing the limits of technology that we can make the most out of each and every day in our business! Biggest topics this year were 1) incorporate some automation in your business; 2) teams truly allow all personalities to become real estate professionals and allow a bit of balance in each team member’s life; and 3) nothing is more important than face to face professional real estate process specialists – customer service wins every time!

Now that we are back to more of a normal schedule, it’s time to decide what the take away from all these education sessions will be and what we want to implement! Speed of Implementation is the only thing that can set you apart from the rest! Do it and do it well!

As we close these first 30 days of 2017, I truly hope each of you is making the most of your WORD!

Viva Las Vegas!

Just a few weeks ago, I attended the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builder’s Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, along with one of our other team members, Diana Ramage!

Now why, might you ask, would a real estate sales & marketing company attend the International Builders Show? Well….for us, there are several reasons. Our niche market is new construction home sales. For our builder clients, we like to hear about the newest innovations in home construction so that we can offer ideas and suggestions about the latest trends, we also learn about new design ideas in the marketplace and what is selling well in other areas. There is also a whole segment devoted to sales & marketing of new homes!

From our buyer clients perspective, the more knowledgeable we are of every aspect of new home construction, the better we can help represent them in the process of purchasing a new home, or building one from the ground up! We know what they should expect and look for in the quality of their new hom and we are familiar with industry standards.

In addition to all of these things, it’s just fun! And we have a great opportunity to network with others in our industry and get great ideas from the people we meet from other areas. Another highlight of our trip was touring the New American Home 2013. This 6,721 square foot home was built by Blue Heron, a Las Vegas design/build company. This home has a character all its own, one of its truly unique features is the water canal that runs from the very front entrance of the home, through the living spaces, flowing into one of the multiple swimming holes located throughout the interior of the home. The designers have mastered a new definition for indoor/outdoor living! They eloquently molded the indoor and outdoor spaces together, truly showing how you really have over 10,000 square feet of actual living space within the footprint of this special home. One of my favorite features of the home is the indoor/outdoor master shower!!! My words truly can’t describe it!
