Tonya Tyson grew up in Winter Park, Florida and it wasn’t until she visited Auburn as a junior in high school that she knew she was really a “Tiger” at heart. After a 26-year career in nursing, Tonya’s transition to real estate seems only natural since both involve taking care of the needs of others. Her favorite part of being a Realtor is helping her clients find their “little piece of Auburn.”

After graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Tonya began her career at East Alabama Medical Center in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Throughout her nursing career, Tonya has worked in several different areas of the hospital and has enjoyed being a part of patients’ lives.

Tonya met her husband, Billy, when they were both freshmen at Auburn, but interestingly enough this couple actually grew up only 30 minutes apart from each other in Florida. Opposites really do attract because he is a true country boy who would rather be hunting, while Tonya, definitely a city girl, would rather be shopping.

Tonya is a proud “boy mom” of Bryce, a sophomore at Auburn who loves hunting and mountain biking; and Geordan, a 10th grader at Lee Scott Academy who loves playing football and reading. Other treasured members of the family are Remi, a yellow lab and Sophie, a weimaraner. The family enjoys active volunteer work with the Miracle League. Tonya enjoys jogging, decorating, repurposing furniture, flea markets, and Auburn tailgating.
