Growing up in small-town Arkansas as the oldest of four children, with a widowed mom, Emmy Martin Sorrells learned at an early age that hard work is important and that education is one of the things that you cannot have taken away from you. She carried these lessons with her when obtaining her undergraduate degrees in English and Psychology from Auburn and the University of West Alabama and then in her work in the banking, engineering and pulp and paper industries. Back in 2000, Emmy finally found her way to working with preschoolers, which she claims overlaps perfectly with her work in Real Estate (but not for the reasons you might think!):

“Imagination is the ability to turn anything into a rocket ship, or an animal, or a best friend. Or to see the hidden potential in a fixer-upper or on a large white wall in your unfinished basement,” she explains. Also, “Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. Spending time at home, laughing, eating, creating memories is the best gift you can give your family. I want to help you find a HOME, not just a house.”

Emmy and her husband, Kevin, met in the loveliest village while in college and have been married since 1995. They loved their little college town so much they decided to make it their home.  They have two children, a “girl teen” and a “boy child.” Emmy loves all things Auburn, the beach, twizzlers, living a green lifestyle, barre and yoga, live music and takes every opportunity she can to travel. She makes her bed every day, is a member of Cornerstone Church, and volunteers for just about everything she can from the PTO to the Lee County Association of REALTORS.

She has earned her ABR and SRES designations is working towards her GRI. She was also recently named to the inaugural Dotloop®  Top 10 Most Tech-Savvy Agents worldwide. After all, as Oscar Wilde famously said “you can never be overdressed or overeducated.” Emmy never fails to inspire us or make us laugh, and her clients agree! We are so lucky she has decided to join the Three Sixty team.
