It’s almost time for Swing for Diabetes 2016!

Three Sixty is proud to be a Gold sponsor for the upcoming fourth annual Swing for Diabetes golf tournament, hosted by my sister Diana Ramage and Kendall and Celesta Simmons. The event will be held on June 20th at Moore’s Mill Golf Club.

Diana-RamageDiana’s personal struggle with diabetes didn’t stop her from pursuing a career in golf, which was a passion for her from the age of ten. National success in junior golf tournaments put her on the college radar as a young high school student.  Despite recruitment efforts by most all of the southeastern schools, Diana knew Auburn University would become her school of choice.  While playing on the AU Golf Team, Diana was awarded numerous  individual titles, including National First Team All American her senior year.  The Auburn University Golf Team was ranked number one at various times during Diana’s collegiate career.  The team also won two South Eastern Conference championships.  After graduating in 2005, Diana headed straight to LPGA Qualifying School where she finished in the top 15 and received her LPGA card.

Now a REALTOR and a valued team member here at Three Sixty, Diana was looking for a way to raise money to benefit research and support of others fighting diabetes. She teamed up with former Auburn football player and two time Super Bowl champion Kendall Simmons and his wife Celesta to create the Swing for Diabetes golf tournament four years ago. Like Diana, Kendall’s diagnosis of Type I diabetes in 2003 was only a minor speed bump.  The following year he won the Ed Block Courage Award for returning to football after being diagnosed.

Swing for Diabetes has been a huge success. The money raised this year will benefit the Diabetes and Nutrition Center at East Alabama Medical Center. This specialized department provides supplies, counseling and education for those who otherwise would not be able to afford those services.
