Making the most of our time at NAHB

As this first month of 2017 comes to a close, I reflect on how the year has begun…

Each of us sets many goals at the start of every year! How are we doing? Have we started a daily checklist to confirm we are moving toward the goal? Have you forgotten why you wanted this goal?  Do you keep your written goals in front of you daily? Do you remember why the goal was so important to you?

Here’s to refreshing your goals!

At Three Sixty, each of the team members chooses ONE WORD for the year! At our Revolution meeting at the beginning of each year we share our words and we also decide on company words for the year!

Many come with words that mean very much both personally and professionally and some of us come with words that help us make the most of each day. Here are some examples… ACTION, FOCUS, GROWTH, KINDNESS, CONSISTENCY, ENOUGH.

NAHB in Orlando with the team

I must say that the first month is always tough… it involves a lot of travel, a lot of information and education and it flies by!

Week One we had our annual Revolution meeting. We are Three Sixty – it is one full circle! It’s only fitting that we have a meeting that we call a “Revolution.”

Week Two we are off to Orlando for the National Home Builder’s International Builder Show! It is amazing that this conference truly covers 2 Million square feet of meeting space at the Orange County Convention Center. There are sales topics, building code, plan design and development education sessions as well as universal design tours and let’s not forget… the newest and coolest products for the home!

Week Three we are off to New York City for one of our favorite (if not our favorite) real estate conferences of each year, Inman Connect! Inman covers all things real estate and so much more along with setting the standard higher for customer service and pushing the limits of technology that we can make the most out of each and every day in our business! Biggest topics this year were 1) incorporate some automation in your business; 2) teams truly allow all personalities to become real estate professionals and allow a bit of balance in each team member’s life; and 3) nothing is more important than face to face professional real estate process specialists – customer service wins every time!

We were so happy Britni Ingram was with us at Inman Connect this year!

Now that we are back to more of a normal schedule, it’s time to decide what the take away from all these education sessions will be and what we want to implement! Speed of Implementation is the only thing that can set you apart from the rest! Do it and do it well!

As we close these first 30 days of 2017, I truly hope each of you is making the most of your WORD!

National Association of REALTORs Conference in Orlando!

nonetmagcoverTwo weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the National Association of REALTORS conference in Orlando. NAR conferences are held around the country year after year, but it always special when it happens to be at Disney!

NAR is currently at a membership high of over 1.2M members strong. This year more than 50,000 REALTORS attended the conference. Our industry is having a very good year! The conference is FULL of wonderful relevant information for REALTORS all across the nation.

I began my conference with a half day seminar on Smart Growth in the 21st Century. This session was full of useful information for my everyday life in real estate right here in Auburn, AL. The next several days were packed with sessions from heavy hitters in our industry such as Brian Buffini, Bob Wolff and one of my favorites, David Knox. And you can’t go wrong when listening to the NAR Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun.

We were also inspired and motivated by speakers Lou Holtz! Colin Powell was our General session speaker – he was eloquent and humorous.

The EXPO is always exciting – you can find anyone who can help you to do anything in the real estate world! All of your favorite vendors are there and they always have a special gift just for you at the EXPO!

I have  the privilege of knowing so many realtors from across the country and it is so fun running into them each year at these events.

Realtors know how to have fun, and the night life is no exception! Several vendors invited us to receptions and some have STARS…. I was lucky enough to get invited to play FAMILY FEUD with the Property Brothers, Drew and Jonathan! So fun! And we were front row for the Concert… TRAIN! All in all this was a wonderful time in Orlando with a few thousand of my closest REALTOR friends!

BP PAC Fun Run 2016 is a huge success!

FullSizeRender 2

Three Sixty was so proud to be a sponsor of this past Sunday’s BP PAC Fun Run at Auburn High School. Auburn High & Junior High Baseball and Softball Programs joined together for the fourth annual BPPAC EVENT, which stands for “Baseball Players Play Against Cancer,” and the Auburn event raises money to benefit East Alabama Medical Center Foundation Cancer Center.

The 8th, 9th, JV and Varsity Baseball and Softball teams include children of some of Three Sixty’s own. Each player, in fundraising around town, gave community members the opportunity to place a name in memory of or in honor of someone they knew who had cancer. Names were displayed on baseball signs all along the 5K route.

Opelika, Enterprise and Central teams will be participating in fundraising and as they play their games against Auburn during the BPPAC events this week. Although these teams will battle each other for a win on the field, they will join forces off the field in raising money for EAMC Foundation Cancer Center.

Honorary Cancer Survivors will be throwing the first pitch of each game throughout the event at both the softball and baseball games. Join us for a special ceremony March 9 between the Auburn and Opelika JV and Varsity Games for all of the teams and community.

On target…..

Each month it’s a favorite activity of mine to read the latest issue of REALTOR (R) Magazine.  I love seeing new trends in the industry – what’s hot and what’s not – and learning how our market compares to the nation’s outlook. The most recent month’s edition described various franchises: the ways in which each one has decided to set themselves apart and why the largest is better than the most stylish, from marketing to market share.  It is a very good feeling when you know what you are doing to change the world is unique. And there you have Three Sixty! Yes we sell Real Estate, and yes we have good market share for our location, and yes we have the most productive agents…and we are not a franchise!

This is such good news. From what this article says, there isn’t a franchise that exists that can cater to what we do.  Have Americans been dividing raw land for centuries? Yes. Have men been taking raw land and turning it into individual lots to sell to individual builders for decades? Yes.  But its a unique phenomenon to see raw land subdivided into specific sized lots, with builders involved in the planning stage, with stylish and design oriented floor plans, and with land use qualities and an amenities laid our prior to even one lot line being drawn.  That’s Three Sixty’s goal.  This is the process on which we thrive.  With development coordination and a development stylist you can create not just a lot, not just a house, but you get to create a community!  After reading this article I think maybe Three Sixty should start franchising!
Who wants to be the first one to learn how to make a better community for your market?

What is the SHIFT?

The Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE) is located on the main campus of the University of Alabama in the Culverhouse School of Business. This small office of 4 people services the entire state of Alabama. They assemble, graph and publish multiple levels of statistics. How many homes and condos sold, how long did it take for the properties to sell, best locations across the state to buy or build, tally of new construction and price range that is selling best! All of this is available to help REALTORS, developers looking to jump into our market, builders interested in an additional market in our state, and many other areas people may find interest. This is both commercial and residential real estate related information.

Myself and a couple of Three Sixty team members were able to attend the ACREcon2012 conference in Birmingham, Al this past week; the title of the conference was what I believe to be a challenge to all that attended….the Shift Age….Is it already here?  Are you ready? Or could you possibly be ahead of it? An economics professor named Sam Addy spoke to us on economic growth, For Economic growth to occur several factors must move forward…
Education, Research and Development, Community Development, Leadership, Planning and finally Economic Development.

Cary Creek in Auburn

The newest up and coming development in Auburn, Al – Cary Creek The first phase of the project will open next Wednesday February 15, this commercial portion will launch a Publix grocery store, this will be a second Publix store in the Auburn Area. In addition to a grocery there will be a Circle K convenience store, a nail salon, Louie’s chicken fingers (a second location for this local restaurant), an urgent care facility, and the newest location for the Auburn University Federal Credit Union.
Cary Creek is not just another commercial development; it has vision and long term goals in place. It is sure to be a permanent imprint on the city of Auburn. With great attention to detail, from exterior color schemes for the large retailers to the grand entrance sign and secondary entrance to The Shoppes. There will be many more posts regarding Cary Creek, with over 300 acres left to beautify and diversify; this will be worth the wait in coming months!

Why Three Sixty?

Three Sixty, we are a revolution…. Please allow me to say a few words about our great team! Tricia Peterson and Nonet Reese came to a decision sometime in 2009. We saw the need for a different kind of real estate company, a real estate company that caters to the new construction , development and builder industry all while understanding the need to have professional realtors that can handle with care the sale of existing homes.

Our tag line says it all …. we are from concept to closing, no matter if it is a 300 acre parcel of raw land that we turn into a 700 lot subdivision, a single family home where the owners would like a little more space or (because we are a college town) the purchase of a condominium for your new freshman student!
We have the best and brightest team members to assist you!
